Makeup Show NYC: Summer Makeup Must-Haves….

 After two amazing days (well three counting the fabulous Blogger preview) at the MakeUp Show I am ecstatically looking forward to the vibrant  palette on deck for summer. I noticed everyone at the show rocked a gorgeous red pout. I’m looooving this old becomes new again trend and decided to share a few goodies I snagged while at the show.

Here, MAKE UP FOR EVER’s National Educator Jessie Powers shares her four easy steps for achieving a precisely lined eye using Aqua Liner:

1. Draw a thin line of liquid liner centered on the upper lash line directly above the pupil.

2. To create the liner “tail,” choose the end point of your tail slightly above and outside of the natural lash line. Then, with your eyes open and focused forward, draw a line from the tail’s end point down toward the outer corner of the lash line.

3. Next, with your eyes open and focused forward, draw a line from the end of the tail connecting it to the liner on the center of the upper lash line. Continue these strokes until the tail is completely filled in.

4. Finally, draw a liner from the inner corner of the upper lash line to the middle of the upper lash line, connecting the two sections.

Forever 21 Launches Maternity… Chic or Fashion Faux-Pas?

Uber trendy bargain fashion chain Forever 21 is unveiling a maternity line, entitled Love 21. Sounds cute… Well not for the angry parents  in Arizona, Texas and California.

Initially the line will be available in only Five States (for now)… Arizona, Alaska, California and Texas.  Alaska????

The Issue: Arizona, California and Texas are on the list of the states with the highest pregnancy rate in the Country.  Controversy is stirring and many are wondering why would a teen retail chain even  toy with the idea of  a maternity line?? It makes you wonder…

In a statement, company reps say, “Forever 21 did not create, design or distribute Love 21 Maternity to target or appeal specifically to pregnant teens. Any relationship between teen pregnancy rates and the locations of our stores is unintentional.”

Of course, the line can also be seen on the Forever 21 website.
