Bohemian-Inspired Styles for Spring…
The Bohemian-inspired style is back with a new urban twist….. Anyone can achieve this feminine, eclectic look by pairing romantic prints with weathered favorites. The freshness comes from prints ranging from paisley, florals to medallions which are featured in flowing tops and skirts. Hot colors for this style are deep earth tones such as espresso chocolate and pesto green with vibrant pops of aqua and warm red. To complete the look, pair the outfit with vintage-like accessories and strappy sandals in an of-the-moment gladiator style.

Tres Chic Style 2009 Oscar Report…

By now most of my loyal Tres Chic Style fashionistas already know Sarah Jessica Parker can do no wrong in my book when it comes to fashion…. The sultry fashionista sashayed her fabulous self on the red carpet in Dior. Simply Stunning!!!

Jessica Biel on the red carpet in strapless ivory satin Prada. Reminded me of Eva Mende’s gown for the Globes last month. Well…kinda sort of…. You be the judge!

Even the hair was awful…Did she do that herself on her way there in the limo???
Where are your accessories Beyonce???? This look was very mature and missing some Gold jewelry….. the messy ponytail and barely there make-up was not an Oscar look to love!

Marion Cotillard also donned Dior and had us all taking a double take…. Very similar to SJP’s look.

My absolute favorite of the evening…. Penelope Cruz in vintage Pierre Balmain. Ms. Cruz stole the show with this one and even took Oscar home with her!!!

I’ve been receiving so many emails and comments about this one… Lil’ Miss Miley Cyrus arrived in a Zuhair Murad dress with a sparkly v-neck bodice and tiered “asparagus -like” skirt. This look reminds me of a debutante or cotillion gown. Not too sure how I really feel about the look but I personally believe it’s too mature for this teen starlet. I would have loved to see her in something shorter and fun with a pop of color…..

(sucking my teeth on this one) Now didn’t we warn celebs about paying tribute to Oscar by looking like one…. Breakout actress Viola Davis obviously missed the memo that Gold lame is a no-no at the Oscars. I think Beyonce tried it one year and the results were disastrous (at least in the world of fashion).
Best supporting actress nominee Taraji P. Henson wears a white tiered gown by Roberto Cavalli and jewels by Fred Leighton. We’ve been seeing a lot of ms. Henson these days with all the Oscar buzz. Her signature bob and delicate make-up are her signature look. Although I loved the look, I thought we’d see a dramatic look for the Oscars, possibly an up-do or extensions. Nonetheless, Missy rocked it…..
Angelina Jolie chose a stunning design by Elie Saab adorned with Lorraine Schwartz jewelry. Very classic Hollywood….Simple yet sexy…Love it!

Now the say something nice challenge…… Honestly I almost forgot about Alicia Keys in “Secret Life of Bees”. Initially I was wondering why was she there?? Anyhoo back to the fashion….Question: Is Tina Knowles her stylist? This look definitely reminds me of Beyonce. The dramatic side split, wig and make-up…. A fan of both celebs but I wished Alicia could have played it a bit more natural. As many of you know I absoultely adore wigs…but this is by far not one of my favorites!!!! By the way, she’s wearing Armani Prive, loved the gown but hated the hair and make-up….
Not a fan of Heidi Klum’s red architectural gown by Roland Mouret…There said it!!! Many fashionista’s and critics were gushing over this edgy meets glam look. I loved the shoes but couldn’t appreciate the complexity of the gown. An up-close view of her accessories revealed heavy baubles, chains and bangles. Geesh!

Kate Winslet wore Atelier Yves Saint Laurent by Stefano Pilati. Her charcoal grey/black ensemble reminded me of Old Hollywood Glamour! Hepburn would be proud….. With Chopard jewels and perfectly coiffed hair Kate was a winner on the carpet and inside the Kodak theater.

Fashion Week Update…..

Models adorned black thigh highs, some knitted caps and a few donned the of-the-moment nerdy eyeglasses. This show was dedicated to Tracey’s mom, Patricia, who passed away last week. Her front row seat sat empty with a bouquet of flowers resting on it.

Fashion Week Update

Fashion Week Day Two
Yesterday I hit the tents for the Barbie Runway Show. With nearly 1500 people in attendance, standing room only, A listers and little girls scurrying about. The theme of the show was “All About Girls” and unapologetic materialism. The show began with a video installation of Barbie through the years, then featured three runway shows, based on interpretations of classic, modern and future Barbie. My favorite design was famed Barbie designer Bob Mackie, who presented a god beaded gown. Something I wish my Barbie rocked back in the day……
Fashion Week for me normally means dynamic shows, celeb sightings, chic after-parties and an extra 2 or 3 pounds at the end of the week… Yes 3 pounds!, shows often treat VIP’s (writers, editors, etc.) to decadent treats before the show and at the after-parties. Miss Tres Chic has been hitting the gym regularly and limiting her eternal love affair with desserts (with the exception of a cupcake every now and then…) I am so committed to my new regimen, even Fashion Week won’t deter me on this one!

Luckily for me, my handbag is armed with my new weight loss secret, courtesy of PurpleLab. It requires no prescription, or dreaded FDA warnings…..A wave of my Huge Lips Skinny Hips lip gloss wand actually curves my urge to snack while leaving my lips instantly plumped without the usual burning or stinging.
The secret to this tasty lip-plumping gloss is 10% Hoodia Gordoni extract, a natural appetite suppressant extracted from cactus-like plants in South Africa and Nambia. Used for centuries by the locals for its hunger curbing abilities. Hoodia works by mimicking the effects of glucose on the brain, tricking it into thinking you’ve just eaten.
The gloss is available in 6 georgeous, on-trend spring hues, like Red Sole, Love Your Thighs (personal favorite), Worship Kate, Lychee Martini, No Panty Lines and Kitty Poledancer.
Huge Lips, Skinny Hips retails for $20 and will be available March 1 at Space NK and Scoop!
On a lighter note….. Join Tres Chic Style and help 5 year Jasmina Amena realize the “Magic” of Barbie for generations to come…..
Muuuaahh!
Red Carpet Must-Haves…. Part 1
In just 6 days everyone will be focused on the 81st Annual Oscars at the Kodak Theater in Los Angeles. Over the years, we’ve witnessed glorious red carpet triumphs as well as numerous red carpet fiascoes. With just a few days remaining until the broadcast, Tres Chic Style would like to congratulate all the nominees and dedicate an entire week of giving our readers a glimpse at some haute products celeb stylist rely on to assist their clients on The Red Carpet.

While full lips have been all the rage in Tinseltown the past few years, they have some sizable competition with the latest “It” accessory…..full luxorious lashes!
Many fashionistas denote their eyes as their best feature. We’ve spent countless dollars on high-end mascaras and lash applications. Lash extensions are unforgiving on the eyelashes amd tend to leave you with dry, brittle and damaged lashes. The fab folks at Lashfood have unveiled a natural conditioning stimulant guaranteed to enhance your lashes in just 2 to 4 weeks.

Lashfood is very similar to liquid eyeliner. For best results the makers advise you apply the serum morning and evening. I’m actually in my 2nd week and I’ve noticed a considerable difference in my sparse lashes. My lashes appear thicker and I can even apply it before my mascara application in the morning.
Best of all……Lashfood can also be used to improve thin, overplucked eybrows. The natural ingredients are safe and easy to apply to the root of the brows to stimulate hair growth.
